# Handover (2026-10-18)

Temporary notes. Read `AGENTS.md`, `SPEC.md`, `ROADMAP.md`, `docs/ARCHITECTURE.md` first; delete this file when stale.

## Working agreements
- Repo `/Volumes/Storage/Projects/notescraft`, branch `develop`. Before commit: `cargo xtask ci` (long, use a long timeout). Commits end with the Co-Authored-By line. Push only when asked (`git push origin develop develop:main`).
- After a UI change: `cargo build -p notescraft`, kill the old process, `target/debug/notescraft /tmp/gv`.
- Snapshots: `NOTESCRAFT_CONFIG_DIR=/tmp/ncv-cfg cargo run -p notescraft-ui-egui --example snapshot -- --vault <v> --out x.png --size 1440x900 --open "note.md" [--right-tab lint]`.
- Designs: PaperCraft (`papercraft-cli`), page "Editor" id `d2f89d953e07927f`.

## State
- Everything from the last sessions is in one commit: calendar plugin, vault knowledge, editor blocks and lint (phase 14), macOS menu bar.
- `cargo xtask ci` was green before the commit.
- New crates: `lint` (L2), `blocks` (L1). New commands: `lint.*`, `block.*` (engine, CLI, MCP).

## Pending (important only)
- Spell-check: owner decision (new dependency or in-house checker); rule slot `spelling` exists.
- Editor: mobile bottom toolbar, inline lint fix popover, block menu by keyboard, two embeds on one line, checkboxes in embeds, embed refresh after editing the source in another tab, `^block-id` shown in rendered text.
- Obsidian switch: no community plugins (Dataview shows as code), no sync service (use git), `%%` and tables done.
- Release: run `release.yml` on the remote, install-test Windows MSI and Linux packages, signing, `muda` and `winresource` approvals, macOS menu clicks and Cmd-W/Cmd-Q unchecked.
- Never run: a release-build soak test or a long GUI session. Try the app on a copy of a real vault first.
- Other ROADMAP "Pending, by area" items still stand (assistant Accept/Reject on Preview, calendar follow-ups, phone-width shell).
