* Sketch Dimension: arc length from an arc and its end point (#754)
The arc-length dimension existed (sketch.dimension type arc_length) but
the Dimension tool could only give an arc its radius. An arc and one of
its own end points, in either order, now dimension the arc's length:
click the arc, then its end. The pair was refused before ("cannot
dimension that combination"), so no existing result changes. A point
where the arc's end is (a coincident line end) counts as that end.

When an agent's models come from several providers (Hermes and OpenCode

provider and reports providers and provider.

An edge flange's position can now be material_outside (the inner virtual sharp on the edge) or tangent (the bend's outer face tangent to the edge's face), in sheet.flange and the Flange dialog. The bend starting at the edge was already the outside position, which now also answers to bend_outside.

* Viewport: ambient occlusion no longer shows ghost copies of the model (#4167)
The AO shader used the same 32 sample offsets at every pixel, and nothing smoothed the
result. On a flat face, each sample darkened its own shifted copy of a nearby part's outline.
Where the radius is large on screen (a big design seen close up), those copies show as faint
separate ghosts of the part. Where it is small, they pack into stepped bands along contacts
(#3407).
The sample pattern is now turned by a different angle at each pixel, using interleaved
gradient noise of the pixel position (Jimenez 2014). The copies break up into an even fine
grain, which 2x supersampling smooths further. The cost is per pixel only (one noise value,
one sine and one cosine). The 32-sample loop, the depth prepass and AO off are unchanged.
Test: ambient_occlusion_draws_no_copies_of_a_part (viewport.rs) renders a block on a plate
from above with AO off and on. AO must still darken beside the block, the plate must stay
clear beyond the radius, and the profile beside the block's straight side must have no
copy-sized steps (0.0144 before, 0.0026 after; limit 0.005). The test-only offscreen helper
gains an AO radius, like render_offscreen_ssaa.

entries change; a stale path is refreshed and an entry the user changed is left alone.

* Sheet metal: Path Flange, a chain of bends on an existing sheet edge (#4094)
Path Flange (`sheet.path_flange`): sketch an open chain of lines across a sheet edge, pick the
edge and one line; each line becomes a flange as long as the line and each corner a bend, one
feature and one body. The edge flange takes further bends (`then`), each on the far edge of the
one before, and the Flange dialog shows them as rows with a bin each.
* Release: sign and notarize the macOS app with a Developer ID (#5749)
package.sh --sign signs the app, the CLI and the DMG with the hardened runtime and a secure
timestamp, notarizes the DMG and the CLI zip, staples the DMG and checks it with stapler and
spctl. The app carries entitlements.plist: com.apple.security.cs.disable-library-validation
lets the hardened runtime load 3Dconnexion's client framework (crates/threedx-client).
signing.sh --setup imports the certificate into a temporary keychain and writes the API key;
--cleanup removes both. The release workflow builds both architectures first (macos-build, no
secrets), then signs and packages in the join job. Without the APPLE_* secrets (forks, dry runs)
the app keeps its ad-hoc signature and the job summary says so.

Up/Down in a focused value field step a plain number by 1 in the unit it is written in
("20 mm" -> "21 mm", "2,5 mm" -> "3,5 mm"), 10 with Shift and 0.1 with Alt; the wheel over
the focused field does the same, a step a notch, instead of scrolling the panel under it.
Expressions such as `width / 2` are left as typed, and an open completion list keeps the
arrows. Every expression field gets this through `params_dialog::complete`: the value box
beside the geometry in every dialog, the dialog rows, sketch dimensions, the dimension
editor, Drive Joint and the Parameters window.
* The value box beside the geometry stays under the pointer
The box rides on the arrow's tip, so each wheel notch that stepped its value moved it, and
after a notch or two the box slid out from under the pointer and the wheel zoomed the view
instead. While the pointer is over it the box now keeps its place, and it goes back to the tip
when the pointer leaves.
* Value stepping is a preference, off by default
Preferences › General › "Step values with the arrow keys and the wheel" (`step_values`,

A design remembers its file's size and modification time when it is
opened or saved. Save over a file another program or computer changed
since asks: Save a Copy (the default), Overwrite or Cancel.
Programmatic calls never ask: doc.open reports open_elsewhere and takes
read_only, and file.save over a changed file returns an error until it
is given overwrite: true. ui.documents answers both questions.

* Windows OpenGL: use the system title bar so the picture lines up with clicks (#2063)
On Windows with only OpenGL to start, the window opens with the system
title bar instead of using the application bar as its title bar. The
window without OS decorations keeps its caption style while having no
frame, and some OpenGL drivers (older Intel HD/UHD) show the picture a
caption's height lower than the window, so clicks land above what they
point at. Direct3D 12 and Vulkan keep the custom title bar.
The choice is made before the window opens, from the backends wgpu

* Configurations: a design keeps up to 2048 rules
Problem: a configuration table kept at most 128 rules. A rule drives one feature's suppression,
so an assembly that switches a few hundred parts on and off (by two rules each) could not keep
its rules. Copying rules for an independent component copy looked up each new id by scanning all
rules, which a larger table makes slow.
Solution: MAX_RULES is 2048; a copy looks its new ids up in a set of the ids taken. The docs say
the new limit.

* Test: configuration rules given together are checked with all of them in place
Suppressing a box and the cut on it: the box's rule alone fails the row check (the cut has
nothing left to cut), so the two rules can't be added one at a time. Given together they pass,
in one undo step; a bad rule among them adds none.

* Configurations: config.rule takes several rules at once and checks the rows once
Problem: config.rule adds one rule and checks every saved row with it. Rules that only hold
together (suppressing a body and the cut on it) could not be added at all: the first one alone
fails the check. A design with many rules also rebuilt every row once per rule.
Solution: config.rule takes `rules: [...]`: each rule is added or replaced as with `rule`, then
the rows are checked once with all of them in place, in one undo step; a rule that fails
validation adds none. The docs describe it.

* Configurations: a parameter edit runs the suppression rules whose condition reads what changed
Problem: configuration rules ran only when a row was activated or a configuration edited. A
design that switches features on and off by a parameter (a rule that suppresses a feature when
the parameter is 0) did not follow a parameters.change of that parameter.
Solution: parameters.change (one parameter or several) runs, before the rebuild, the enabled
rules that switch a feature's suppression and whose condition reads a parameter whose value
changed (or a feature switched earlier in the same pass), in their order as activation applies
them, and lists them as `switched`. Driven parameters and restrictions still wait for a
configuration edit or activation; a rule whose condition reads nothing that changed leaves a
hand-set suppression alone; a rule that cannot be evaluated is skipped and never blocks the edit.
One undo step with the edit. docs/configurations.md says so.

An agent's batch of parameter edits, one parameter per step, evaluated the
design once per edit: an edit early in the timeline rebuilds nearly all of
it, and 21 such edits ran for minutes.
engine.batch and the MCP batch tool take coalesce_parameters (default
false). With it, each run of consecutive plain parameter edits
(parameters.change with only a name and an expression, or with changes) is
set as one parameters.change {changes}: one rebuild for the run. Any other
step ends a run, so later steps see the design up to date. Every step
still gets its own result (coalesced: the run's length); the run is one
undo step. A run whose combined edit is refused (a new parameter, which
changes can't make; a bad expression) runs step by step, so a refused edit
is still named by its own step. The app's off-thread evaluation computes
the run the same way. The grouping is solidcraft_engine::batch_params,
shared by both runners.

Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01PsiqyXWBFGTCX9J51bhysc
* Model cache: each sheet body is written once, not with every state
Problem: a saved model writes every feature's state, and each state wrote its sheet bodies in
full; most features leave the sheets as they were, so a sheet-metal design of many features
repeated them over and over (a 280-feature part: 30.5 MB of manifest, 29.6 MB of it 69 distinct
sheet records written 243 times). Past the manifest's 32 MiB limit the save thinned the cache
(#3220) and opening evaluated the left-out features again, although the distinct data was small.
Solution: the records keep a list of sheet bodies, each written once; a state names its sheets by
their place in it, as it already does for bodies and sketches. A thinned model keeps the whole
list and counts it once against its budget; the reader counts sheets with the bodies and sketches
a state holds; the cache format is now /4 (an older cache is a miss).
