Each job fetched the prebuilt SMLib into target/ before Swatinem/rust-cache restored target/,
which replaced it, so every build that links SMLib stopped with "SMLib ... is not fetched"
(the Docker image of #7403). The fetch now follows the cache restore in every job.
develop (the SMLib kernel's trunk until it merges into main) gets main's push runs: CI runs on
pushes to it, a push compares against the last passing push to its own branch, and its runs save
the Rust caches the PRs into it restore.

Every job that builds the kernel with SMLib runs scripts/fetch-smlib.sh after the toolchain:
the host's prebuilt archive, the matrix target's for cross builds, wasm32's for the web jobs.
RISC-V has no archive, so its check compiles the sources with g++-riscv64-linux-gnu.

* Release: sign the Windows binaries and MSI through SignPath Foundation
When the SIGNPATH_API_TOKEN secret exists, each Windows job sends the
three .exe files to SignPath before packaging, then the MSI built from
them, using the GitHub artifact flow from SignPath's docs. The policy
is test-signing unless the signpath_signing_policy dispatch input or
the SIGNPATH_SIGNING_POLICY repository variable says otherwise. Without
the secret the jobs build unsigned exactly as before.
package.ps1 gains -Phase stage|package so signing can sit between the
build and the MSI; the artifact configuration to paste into SignPath is
packaging/windows/signpath-artifact-configuration.xml.

* SignPath: drop the description attributes the Foundation plan doesn't allow
SignPath Foundation projects get an automatic signature description (its watermark);
the artifact configuration may not override it.

* Release: sign and notarize the macOS app with a Developer ID (#5749)
package.sh --sign signs the app, the CLI and the DMG with the hardened runtime and a secure
timestamp, notarizes the DMG and the CLI zip, staples the DMG and checks it with stapler and
spctl. The app carries entitlements.plist: com.apple.security.cs.disable-library-validation
lets the hardened runtime load 3Dconnexion's client framework (crates/threedx-client).
signing.sh --setup imports the certificate into a temporary keychain and writes the API key;
--cleanup removes both. The release workflow builds both architectures first (macos-build, no
secrets), then signs and packages in the join job. Without the APPLE_* secrets (forks, dry runs)
the app keeps its ad-hoc signature and the job summary says so.

Where SolidCraft can replace itself safely, the Update window gets Update now:
- AppImage: the new AppImage is downloaded next to the old one, verified and renamed over
it; Restart now starts it as SolidCraft exits.
- Windows MSI: the verified .msi starts (msiexec /i … /passive) once SolidCraft has closed,
after the usual questions about unsaved designs.
- Windows portable zip / standalone exe: the running solidcraft.exe is renamed to .old, the
new one takes its name (solidcraft-cli.exe too), Restart now; .old goes at the next start.
- macOS: the verified .dmg is opened (the app is ad-hoc signed and not notarized, so it isn't
replaced behind the user's back).
- Flatpak, Snap, deb, rpm, tar.gz: never replaced; the window shows the command.
Every package's SHA-256 must match the release's SHA256SUMS.txt (HTTPS, same release); a
mismatch deletes the download and changes nothing. With PUBLIC_KEY set in update/install.rs,
SHA256SUMS.txt.minisig must also verify (minisign-verify, MIT) with a trusted comment naming
the release. release.yml signs the list when the UPDATE_SIGNING_KEY secret exists and fails
when the app expects signatures but the secret is missing; docs/releasing.md has the steps.

* Snap package: build, test and attach a strict snap to every release
packaging/linux/snap/snapcraft.yaml (core24, strict, gnome extension) repackages
the release's Linux tarball like the Flatpak does. The release workflow builds it
for amd64 and arm64, installs it with --dangerous, models a box in the confined
app on headless X11 and Wayland, and attaches solidcraft-<version>-linux-<arch>.snap
plus the version-less copy. When SNAPCRAFT_STORE_CREDENTIALS is set, nightlies go
to edge and release drafts to candidate, and snap-store.yml promotes candidate to
stable when a release is published. The README gets a Snap badge and install line.

Badges and one-line instructions for Windows, macOS, Linux and the web app,
right after the tagline and demo. The links use releases/latest/download with
version-less file names, which release.yml now attaches (and checksums)
alongside the versioned installers. The Flatpak note and the name/compatibility
section move into the book's Getting started page.

* Release under the SolidCraft name: binaries, assets and installers
The desktop binary is now `solidcraft` and the CLI `solidcraft-cli` (the two app packages
are renamed; their folders move with the rest of the rename later). Every release asset is
named solidcraft-<ver>-… / SolidCraft-<ver>-windows-x64.exe, and the installers show the
SolidCraft product name.
Kept so existing installs keep updating (docs/compatibility.md):
- `solvecraft-cli` alias binary in every package, forwarding to solidcraft-cli with a
deprecation note on stderr (tests/legacy_alias.rs).
- Linux app ID ai.storyteller.solvecraft (Flatpak ID, desktop entry, Wayland app_id).
- MSI UpgradeCode, so the MSI upgrades in place.
- deb Replaces/Conflicts/Provides and rpm Obsoletes/Provides solvecraft.
- An old-named .zsync copy so earlier AppImages find updates; a legacy .flatpakrepo copy.
- .solvecraft file associations; SOLVECRAFT_* fallbacks in the packaging scripts.

The cross-built riscv64 binary can't run on the x86_64 runner, so the packaging step that runs the CLI
failed and blocked the whole release. RISC-V users can build from source; the opt-in RISC-V compile
check in ci.yml stays.

Pins actions/checkout v7.0.1, actions/upload-artifact v7.0.2, actions/download-artifact v8.0.2 and
Swatinem/rust-cache v2.9.2 by commit. Re-applied onto current main by the maintainer (the workflows
changed since the PR was opened); dtolnay/rust-toolchain stays on @stable, because pinned to a commit
it needs an explicit toolchain input, and it is a composite action with no Node runtime.

Build drafts from explicit workspace versions, preserve dry runs, and document
agent verification and publication. Reject existing release tags and published
versions instead of publishing on every development push.
Adapted from storytold/photocraft's release.yml and packaging/ (Apache-2.0; ATTRIBUTION.md and
NOTICE say so). Packages install the licence files, THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.txt included. The app
icon is drawn by `solvecraft-cli icon` (a blue block with a bore, rendered on a transparent
background; .ico too), so no image is committed. Notes: a short header plus GitHub's generated
What's Changed. A dry run (Run workflow, publish off) keeps the files as the release-assets
artifact. packaging-lint.yml checks the workflows, scripts and metadata.

Release assets are now the programs themselves: SolveCraft and solvecraft-cli .exe for Windows,
plain Linux binaries plus the AppImage, a macOS .dmg (SolveCraft.app with an Applications link) and
the universal CLI binary; only the web app stays a zip. The notes template takes {tag}, says to
chmod +x on Linux and macOS, and GitHub adds the change list.
Since no LICENSE or NOTICE file rides along any more, the programs carry them:
THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.txt (written by `cargo xtask licences` from cargo metadata and each shipped
crate's own licence files, 419 crates; `cargo xtask ci` checks it is current) is embedded with
LICENSE-MIT, LICENSE-APACHE and NOTICE in solvecraft_engine::licences, shown in Help ▸ About ▸
Licences (third-party text laid out by visible rows) and printed by `solvecraft-cli licences`.

.github/workflows/release.yml builds on a pushed v* tag (or by hand) and attaches everything to a
GitHub release, a pre-release while the version is 0.x, with .github/release-notes.md. The
packaging lives in .github/release/package-{linux,macos}.sh so it can be run locally; the
AppImage icon is rendered by solvecraft-cli from the bracket example.
