The cursor correction tries the constraints' free directions a whole step at a time and took a step as soon as the cursor's distance fell, by any amount. Along freedom that can't reach the cursor (the far end of a line held only by its direction), retracting onto the constraints still moves the cursor by rounding, so such steps were taken: the end walked away a step at a time, and a line measured by an angle could shrink to nothing, as in #7635. A step now has to move the cursor itself by more than the solve's tolerance. Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
