brett19 d076a69e75 Merge smlib (main + develop) into solidcore ...

The hole and placement sections stay on main's Tools page and network locations on its General page; the geometry kernel section stays on the Design page. prepare_preferences refuses a kernel choice before main's checks. tests/KNOWN_FAILING_TESTS keeps solidcore's lines until rebuilt from a run on this tree.
