The curves were held on a 1-2-5 ladder from the world origin, so count 3 on a 40 x 30 face gave 3
one way and 2 the other. They now follow the command's contract: the held parameter at
lo + k (hi - lo) / (count + 1), k = 1…count, over the face's extent. Faces of the body on the same
surface record are spaced together over their combined extent, so a face a boss splits still
shows the same lines straight across the split.
New case cov-isocurve-40-by-30-face-count-3: x = 10, 20, 30 and y = 7.5, 15, 22.5, to 1e-9 mm.

Both walked the picked curve's display polyline: a point a third along an R10 sketch arc was
0.87 µm off (8.6603, 5). They now evaluate the path's exact curves by arc length: lines and arcs
in closed form, a free-form span at the parameter its arc-length integral reaches (body edges by
their record curves, 3D sketch curves by their arc, spline, line or linked exact curves; only a
curve that exists as points alone, an intersection edge or a projected curve, runs along them).
The arc's point is now within 1e-12 mm of (10 cos 30°, 5, 0).
A t outside 0…1 was clamped silently, which the contract (`t: expr, 0…1 along it`) does not
say: it is refused ("t is 1.5: a point along a path is 0 (its start) to 1 (its end) of the way
along it"). The construction cases grade the arc and line to 1e-9 mm, past-the-end is refused,
and a new case takes the middle of a symmetric cubic spline, (20, 7.5).

A face of degree 1 in one direction (an extruded spline) was refused with "a fairness term does
not fit the net's degrees": the thin-plate energy's S_vv asks for second derivatives a linear
direction does not have. On every span that term is exactly zero, so it is dropped; the energy is
the bending along the curve and the twist. A face whose held layers are its whole net (a
single-span cubic with its edges kept, an extruded curve's two rows) has no interior control
point: it is left exactly as it is, its energy reported unchanged, 0 steps.
cov-fair-single-span-face-has-nothing-free-to-move passes and leaves KNOWN_FAILING.

The portable record's 4,000,000-item budget refused a real result: the join of a level-4
Menger sponge's level-3 sponges ended with "SMLib export: the mapped B-rep does not validate:
portable B-rep: item budget". The budget guards records from outside the kernel, and a body
the kernel built in memory from inputs already bounded where they came in isn't hostile.
Brep::validate keeps the budget for records read from outside: native design caches
(decode_native_body, behind its own 256 MiB, 1M-per-array and 20M-value caps) and STEP import.
The new Brep::validate_built runs every other check, without the cap, on what the kernel
builds: SMLib's export of an operation's result, a body's record (Body::from_record, after
the decoder has checked a file's), a part of a validated record, the record handed back to
SMLib, and the validity check. Its checks are linear in a record already in memory.
SMLib's export bounded its counts by the same budget; a count is now bounded by SMLib's own
longest array (flat::MAX_LEN, checked on entry), which keeps every offset worked out from
the counts from overflowing, and the redundant topology-length cap goes.

Where a round meets a plane it is only tangent to it: its curvature jumps by 1/r there, so no
corner patch can be G2 to both at that point. The cases graded the whole seam and could not pass.
They now bound the curvature jump at stations clear of each seam's turn, within reach of the
corner, scaled by r (ladder 07/019's bound at r5): r1 within 2.2 mm, 0.24 mm clear, 0.005 per mm;
r5 within 11 mm, 1.2 mm clear, 0.001 per mm. Develop's corner gives 0.00135 and 0.00027 per mm
(the jump at the vertex is 1.017 and 0.2035, the round's own 1/r), so both leave KNOWN_FAILING.

When a − b or b − a cannot be made (a kernel error, or a body that encloses no volume), the
region's volume and centre are null, measured_by is "not measured" and not_measured gives the
cut's error; its deviation, area, faces and box are still given, the side's total is null and
the verdict says the volume is not measured. The integrated-along-lines estimate is no longer
reported as a volume.

inspect.compare integrated a region's volume along sampling lines: the
40 x 30 x 5 slab between a box and one 5 mm taller came out at 5976.49 mm3
against 6000. The regions are still found from the two surfaces; each one's
volume, centre and box now come from the pieces of the exact cut a - b (or
b - a) that lie there, measured as inspect.measure measures a body
(measured_by: boolean). Where a cut cannot be made the region keeps the line
integral, marked measured_by: lines, with a warning. The rig case
cov-compare-taller-box passes.

inspect.center_of_mass measured each body's display mesh, so a cylinder r 5,
h 10 came out at 784.13 mm3 against 250 pi = 785.40, and the answer moved with
display quality. It now takes the exact mass properties inspect.measure uses
(ModelBody::measure), skips bodies that enclose no volume as Measure does, and
lists what it skipped. The rig case cov-center-of-mass-box-and-cylinder passes.

- #58: a fillet's tangent-point step no longer depends on the blends before it (solidcore #1173).
- #59: the fillet clean-up keeps the target's edges and faces by a mark, not by address (#1176).
- #60: capi test, a line projected through a sphere's poles meets itself smoothly at each pole.
- #61: offset faces removes a step wall the move closes to nothing and merges the two tops, so
shell/cov-replace-face-step-onto-the-higher-face builds.
- #62: thicken puts a flat side wall on its plane (solidcore #1599), so a cylinder sheet's end
rings are planes: surfaces/cov-thicken-cylinder-sheet-symmetric-tube passes.
Both cases leave KNOWN_FAILING.

They fail on develop today (4 native tests, 8 of 83 reference cases), so running them on pull
requests would fail every pull request. Back on pull requests once develop is green. Reverts

The single results form compares a whole number exactly (a count). The construction and inspect
cases gave positions and volumes as whole numbers, which the form they were written for compared
within tolerance; they are decimals now. The NPT groove fix makes ladder 06/023 pass: its golden
entry is the passing run (51 faces, 8226.4042 mm3).

The shared core (crates/smlib, the grader, doc eval.rs, engine features.rs and the kernel's core)
is in PATHS-ALL; the new areas' copies of it are dropped, so an area reruns on its own files and the
core reruns them all. sheet-metal also watches the sheet commands, the sheet document and the DXF
writer. 116 commands a case now uses leave EXEMPT; 25 geometry commands are still to cover.

Two branches added a results field in different forms ({step, json} and {command, pointer,
value}). The grader keeps one: a 1-based step, an optional JSON pointer into its answer, and the
value matched as files are, with an optional relative or absolute tolerance. The construction and
inspect cases are rewritten to it.

The groove's section was cut square a fixed margin past the crest. The crest cone changes 1 in 32
along the axis across the section's own width, so for NPT (margin 0.015 mm against a 0.028 mm
rise) the section's deeper corner stopped under the cone and each tooth kept a sliver of its
flank: 0.94 mm3 too much on a 1/2-14 NPT. The section's edge now follows the cone at the same
margin.

167/168: every new case passes against its hand answer but 06/023 (1/2-14 NPT external), whose
groove stops 0.015 mm past the crest at its section's middle, under the crest cone on the section's
deeper side, so a sliver of each tooth's flank stays (0.94 mm3, 1.1e-4). The 139 cases before keep
their statuses and counts; their volumes and areas re-measure within 2e-6 on this SMLib.

Base flange; an edge flange at 90 deg; four made together, the corners closed on the mitre plane
with the rule's gap, at 90, 72 (leaning out, the ends run on along a slant) and 108 deg (leaning
in, cut back); round, rectangular and tear reliefs; a hem; a fold, unfolded and refolded; the
tray's flat pattern (outline size and area, bend lines); a bracket with a hole and a flange on a
flange. K = 0.5, so every volume is T x the flat area. The 108 deg tray is a sheet-metal rig case too.

From the script's last sheet.flat_pattern result: the outline's size, its area less the
cut-outs', and the bend lines, each matched to its own one of the result's either way round.

G 1/2 external and Rp 1/2 internal (ISO 228-1 / ISO 7-1, 55 deg) by Pappus turn by turn; R 1/2
and 1/2-14 NPT external and Rc 1/2 internal tapers (1 in 16 from the standard's diameter at the
free end, crests cut by the major or minor cone) by the screw sweep's Jacobian, integrated exactly
(ladder_lib.sweep_removed); an S20x4 run down to a shoulder with its steep flank toward the end and
toward the start, which moves where the groove stops; tip: start, and a Tr20x4 chamfered at its own
30 deg and 2.5 mm; refusals for a Tr chamfer without a depth and for the square form.

1/4-20 UNC (#7, 0.201 in) and Rc 1/2 (17.6) through the stock, 1/4-28 UNF (5.45) blind with a
flat floor, 1/4-18 NPT (10.85) through: a cosmetic thread in a straight hole, so each volume is
the stock less that cylinder. The drills are the catalogue's (Guhring, Yamawa YEU23); each method
gives the standard's minor diameter beside it.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The tap maker's 6.8 mm M8 drill, the chamfered tip's ISO 724 d3 with tip: both, and 07/016's
refusal reason were edited into the cases' JSON but not into cases.py, so running it undid them.
Its output now matches the committed cases (to the last rounding digit of two volumes).

A Default row, a 60 mm row, a row without the hole, a height column and rules
that suppress the hole or drive the height, each checked after activation;
preview leaves the design; refusals for a row that cannot build, unknown rows,
columns and features, and a rule a row breaks.

Suppress a hole and the block is whole again; a round moved before the notch
runs the whole edge and is cut by it; deleting a sketch takes its cut and
deleting the block leaves the round and cut failing; roll to the middle gives
the part at that step; edits, compute all and folders, each with a refusal.
The new history area has its KNOWN_FAILING (every case passes) and PATHS.
